Our progressive colleague Dr. Laniac has pulled to together this graph [resize links below] of data he pulled from OpenSecrets.org. Note the anamolies in the context of the "Bend Over, America" Bill (aka "Bankruptcy 'Reform'"): Schumer raked in big time, but voted no; Byrd got virtually nothing and voted yes. Note the predictables: Lieberman didn't get much from the credit card companies, and he voted no; all the yes votes up at the top.

So you want the government to work in your interest? Ha! Get out your checkbooks! And remember, these figures don't count all the wining and dining and lobbying junkets the banks showered on "our" representatives.
