Today's trivia answer

Why is it that women are refered to as "cunts" and "bitches" by progressives and not conservatives (i've never seen terms like that used on conservative blogs, either by bloggers or in posts)? Could it be because "progressives" are mysogonistic; think of people in terms of groups; just have a monopoly on vicious language and smearing others or are

throwbacks to 60's macho anti-establishment posturing? Could it be because conservatives are grounded in RESPECT for ideas and the individual, language and norms

of decency (they don't throw pies or try to shout down their opponents either)? What could it be, what could it be...?

"and not conservatives" ?

No no, conservatives aren't misogynists. They want to ban the pill, say condoms cause cancer, go on fishing expeditions through women's medical records, jail women for the sins of abusive fathers ... oh yeah, and make women into breeding slaves of the state. But that's not misogyny. Using bad words, that's sooooooooo much worse!

Jesus-binges

I agree with Media Girl. Conservative legislation and polices are anti-woman. The case has not been proven that conservatives use better language than progressives. But, even if the conservatives swear less, does giving up swearing or foul language make them more righteous? Not necessarily.

Take someone who used to drink a lot and snort cocaine. He gives these up and goes all out for Jesus. He no longer binges on booze, but binges on Jesus. The rhetoric is different, but it does not speak to fundamental beliefs.

mysogony

I see your point: you can call women bitches or cunts, rape them, harass them, use them

like tissue paper (all done by Clinton), but if you're for abortion it's all acceptable. If you

treat women with respect as human beings and intellects, have them as your closest

advisors, appoint them to the highest positions in office, but you have a had a personal

religious experience and are a Christian (all of which can be said of Bush) then you are

a mysogonist! Extraordinary.

Your tact is admirable

For someone who proclaims outrage at the use of such words, you seem to like tossing them around.

What do you consider "Christian" anyway?

If you mean thumping on the Bible, espousing hate and war in the name of Jesus, I would humbly suggest that there are other views. Who's talking about Christianity here anyway?
