How ironic. Just a couple days since the naming of Deep Throat, who provided incriminating details about Nixon's lies, bribes and coverups, here we're wondering why, by numerous accounts now, Bush and company lied to the American people, and the world, cooking up "facts" to fit their pre-existing agenda to invade and occupy Iraq, and nobody in the press is talking about it.

Nobody's even asking questions.

Conservatives like to cry "liberal media bias." They point at the media and make this accusation. The thing is, the cause and effect are flipped from what they claim. In fact, their crying wolf has effectively cowed the press.

Editors will say it's because the American people don't care. But a majority of Americans believe that Saddam Hussein caused 9/11. That is a failing of the American media. The fact that most Americans bought into the pre-war lies also is indication that the press done fucked up.

So what about it, network rock stars? Is anyone going to risk getting their moussed hair mussed? What about it, tastemaker editors? Is anyone going to actually run an article pointing out that the Emperor has no clothes?
