and i thought the Handmaid's Tale was bunk

when I read it 20 years ago. Looks to me as if we are losing the battle for women's rights.

Not just "heavy lifting"

Some behaviors, like smoking dope and drinking, can affect the health of men's sperm. So the next time you see a man chugging a beer, call him a pre-baby killer.

What is furthermore interesting is...

That the federal government seems to accept that preteens/teens are having sex, rather than preach abstinence (and then good health) until marriage.

"[I]t's important that women follow this advice throughout their reproductive lives, because about half of pregnancies are unplanned..."

It is more so interesting that males are not guided to practice good health all their lives as sperm exists and can be damaged by bad health and they are capable of reproduction from puberty until their deaths.

Back To The Future

Interesting what these religious wackos can push through while nobody's looking. Now that the groundwork for the language has been laid, it's only a matter of time before the legal framework is built and...voila! 2006 to 1806 all in a few short years.

The fine, frightening line

There is, indeed, a fine line between "should" and "must." I guess that's why I don't like "should" either! It's frightening. It's also absurd. What about the self-aware folks who've decided they never want to have children?

Ladies, face it, you are nothing but baby machines. Just ask John Gibson.
