Shake your booty, class
Here Wired declares in its February issue that Dance Dance Revolution is "tired" and then BoingBoing goes passing on this (Wired) story that the popular video/dancing game is sweeping into West Virginia schools.
West Virginia public schools are the latest to bring Dance Dance Revolution into the classroom to help fight youth obesity. The schools aren't buying the arcade consoles though, but rather Xboxes, TVs, and the DDR mats. The game will be, er, rolled out in 765 of the public schools before next year. Apparently, it's the largest of the DDR at school programs yet.
Presumably the NRA preparing a complaint that the schools' use of these games, and not first-person shooters, is a violation of Second Amendment rights.

who prefer to play DDR at their desks:
Fingertip-sized dance-mats for Playstations.
Video games that don't encourage children to blow the shit out of thinks, massacre en masse, trigger the most vivid gore -- and of course "win" by most effective use of guns! The very foundation of our society will crumble!
What would we do with students whose popular entertainment didn't stimulate rage flow?
Oh the humanity!
IE, I play too much Katamari Damacy.
Actually there has been some notable Feminism in First Person shooters, such as Unreal, where the protagonist is an escaped female convict surviving on a hostle planet. In the latest shooter FEAR, there are several Feminist statements through out the game. Let us not forget Metroid Prime, which stars the original ass-kicking lady of video games, Samus Aran.
