Chalabi, you're doing a heckuva job!
The man who connived to help an already-willing Bush Administration to go attack Iraq, Ahmed Chalabi, who couldn't get himself elected dog-catcher by the Iraqi people, apparently has reached the point in life where no matter what he does, he fails upward:
Iraqi Oil Minister Ibrahim Bahr al-Uloum has been temporarily released from his post amid a dispute over the government's petrol pricing policy.
He is to be replaced for 30 days by Deputy Prime Minister Ahmed Chalabi.
Who calls these shots?
Mr Bahr al-Uloum had publicly objected to the Iraqi government's decision this month to raise petrol prices threefold.
Fire the dissenters. This sounds like what Bush and Putin have been doing.
Fears of severe shortages, prompted by the closure of Iraq's largest oil refinery, have led to long queues at petrol stations in Baghdad.
The refinery in the northern town of Baiji has been shut since last week following death threats to tanker drivers.
What happened to the peaceful, democratic Iraq the Bush Administration is telling us about? For that matter, why is Iraq's largest oil refinery closed?
Let's see: the Iraqi people so mistrust our dear Ahmed that only his friends and family vote for him, yet he's put in charge of the Oil Ministry? Hmmmm...wonder how that happened? (snark intended)
