The Republican Lott; or how a leaky spin on torture leaks threw the Republicans off message

A lot can happen in a few hours. After the leaking of M.D. Frist's Letter for Righteous Republican Inquiry into the oh-so-embarrassing leak of CIA torture camps, Frist-predecessor Trent Lott let slip that the source of the leak of the camps (but not the source of the leak of the letter) was probably a Republican Senator or staffer.

Sen. Trent Lott (R-MS) revealed that the leak likely came from a Senator or Senate staffer who attended a GOP-only meeting with Vice President Dick Cheney last week, where the detention centers were discussed.

Meanwhile, the Republicans seem to be disinclined to have any inquiry into the fact of the CIA torture camps.

And Fox News wonders:

PEOPLE WHO WANT US DEAD?

It's enough to send your head spinning.
