Vice President Rice?

Not sure I like the idea of President Rice

While I'll admit that I'm receptive to the idea of a woman president--or even a black woman president--I'm not sure I like the idea of having Condi Rice as president (If Dick Cheney gets indicted and is forced to resign, bringing Rice to the Vice Presidency, where President Bush is then impeached). Rice was involved too deeply in the Iraq invasion plans, although I'm not sure if she was also a member of the People for a New American Century (PNAC) Doctrine. She certainly would have had knowledge of the faulty intelligence reports and the White House marketing machine for selling the war to the American people. Did she know anything regarding the Valerie Plame scandal? All of that makes me suspicious of her. I have no knowledge of her domestic or economic policies--I don't even think she knows what her domestic or economic policies are. This also would mean as President Rice, she may lean on the same domestic and neo-con ideologues that have sent this country down the economic toilet. I don't even know what her social views are.

This makes the concept of a President Rice as frightening. I'm not sure which women would make good presidential candidates, out of the current possible crop. Hillary Clinton is way too controversial on the conservative / Republican side of the political spectrum. California Senator Barbara Boxer is way too liberal. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is really starting to make waves now--which is both good in enhancing her national publicity, and bad in targeting her by the Republican ideologues. I may look seriously at California Senator Diane Feinstein.
