I guess this outs me as a skiffy fan. I confess it has been a big part of my fiction-reading life. I'm supposing Shakespeare would not count, as most of his work I read in a big Pelican volume. I wish I could list Dickens and Christie and Doyle and Wodehouse, but at least I don't have to drop out of embarrassment Grafton or those Nancy Drew tributes to appropriate hemlines.

Post-Valentine

I have just returned from a work/pleasure weekend; I spent the V day with friends. We celebrated the non-event by eating decadent chocolate muffins, chased with BV Coastal cabernet.

The utter lack of romance in my life right now has almost left me numb to the merchandizing, but not numb to the insights and sentiments expressed in this year's Feminist Valentine awards submissions. The "winners" will be announced shortly, presented along with spiffy graphic effects.
