Does Minnesota even have OB/GYNs to perform abortions anymore?

Not that it takes anything away from the issue at hand which is: that the law starts a bad trend which moves us further and further away from Roe and also illustates poor judgment on NARAL/NOW's behalf. Maybe they reasoned it away b/c it only affects this one doctor.

Hmm.. I thought that it was

Hmm.. I thought that it was commonly accepted that the fetus starts to have the brain elements necessary to feel pain at around 22 weeks. (I got this from literature debunking the "silent scream" video.)

What I'm confused about is--wouldn't the fetus be effected by any pain killers given to the woman?

Funny. As soon as I posted

Funny. As soon as I posted that comment, I went up to the NY Times, and they have an article on it.

Apparently fetuses feel pain later than originally thought.

"Their report, being published Wednesday in The Journal of the American Medical Association, is based on a review of several hundred scientific papers, and it says that nerve connections in the brain are unlikely to have developed enough for the fetus to feel pain before 29 weeks."
